Brookdale’s Annual July 4th Parade and Picnic

Posted by BHA Webmaster on June 4, 2008 - 1:00am in

Grab your lawn chair and a bag to take home some candy and join us for the 31st Annual Parade.  The parade starts at Hill Middle School parking lot at 11 a.m. and winds through Brookdale.  Historically, we’ve had many people from the community join us, such as Mayor Pradel, school board members, city council members, teachers and principals, the Brookdale Buccaneers, Cub and Girl Scouts, Bunco groups, and many more.

Please consider donating candy for the parade.  Hard as we try to ration and share, we always seem to run out.  Please drop off any donations at Lisa Burke’s house – 1505 Preston – by July 3.

At 11:45 immediately following the parade, the BHA will host our 7th Annual Community Picnic.  Enjoy lunch and a drink for just $2.  We will be serving until 1 p.m.

An enormous thanks in advance goes to Lisa Burke for once again coordinating what is arguably Brookdale’s favorite event.  Thank you also to Mike Ramsey and Barb Devogelear for volunteering to coordinate the picnic this year.

Children’s Clothing and Toy Sale Great Success

Posted by BHA Webmaster on April 13, 2008 - 6:31pm in

A huge thanks goes to Beth Siwicki for organizing BHA’s Spring Children’s Clothing and Toy sale.  The event was a immense success due, in large part, to the willingness of all the Brookdale sellers to pitch in and help where needed.  We hope to hold this event again in the fall (usually at the end of September).

Would you be interested in an About Brookdale forum?
